第五章 场景会话 Unit 16 At the Department Store在商店【Brief Introduction 简介】
商店购物在任何社会都是一种生活需要，也是一种有趣的消遣，了解一些英美国家商店的基本情况，对学习英语的人来说很有必要。在商业十分发达的英美国家，商店种类之多，使任何初来乍到的人惊讶不已。其中大的叫做department store (百货商场)，主要出售衣物、家具、家庭用品等等，极小的只售一种货物，还有叫 discount sho (折价商店)和廉价品的dime stores（一角钱商店）。大商场的商品质量优良，品种应有尽有，还为顾客提供尽可能多的方便，如顾客购买贵重商品时，付款可以作特别的安排。一般的商店都会为顾客提供纸袋或塑料袋。相对而言，超级商场既省时又经济。大百货商场都是明码标价，不能讲价钱（bargain）。
商店为了做生意，售货员一般都是很礼貌的接待顾客，服务非常周到。作为顾客也应当对售货员以礼相待。
